Highest Values (part 2)

If you are anywhere near being a normal human being, there will some differences between your Desired Values and your Actual Values. In fact, you probably found some new items on the list reflected by your actual actions.

Would you like to make some changes to the Actual Values so that they better reflect your Desired Values? Perhaps family was very high on your Desired Values, but once you measure your time, energy, money, and focus, you found family as coming in 6th or 7th instead of 1st or 2nd. Perhaps you intended for something like “relaxing entertainment” to be 9th or 10th, but every time you measure by time, energy, money, and focus, it’s coming in 3rd or 4th ahead of some things it should not.

In order to motivate yourself to spend less time enjoying entertainment and more time on one of your higher desired values (maybe it’s family, or service to others, or career), you must find a way to associate more pain with the value that needs to be brought down in rank and more pleasure with the value that needs to be brought up in rank.

Controlling what you link pain and pleasure to will greatly affect your destiny!
